My Frame of Mind

Day 01

We spent the first day almost on plane, erm... 4 hours flight from Penang to Guangzhou bai yun international airport (currently known as the largest airport in china), indeed it's very large... there are still wheel chairs provided for senior citizen, then we had another 3 hours flight from Guangzhou to chong qin. When we reached chong qin it is almost 4pm, chong qin is an amazing city, it has modern buildings which are tall, high-up to the sky and the bridges are fascinating. Chongqing is located at the confluence of Yangtze River (Changjiang) and Jialing River. Chongqing is also well-known as “Mountainous City”. Since Chongqing is surrounded by mountain, there are many tunnel and terrace to convenience daily life of Chongqin’s people.

Day 02

We visited bao ding to see the rock carving art by china’s monk about thousand of years ago, you can see combination of 3 religions here, and they are Tao, Hindi and Buddhism, it’s indeed shocking because you would not find another place in the world that will have 3 combinations of religions in the same area. Well, you will need to be impressed by people from the Ancient China; they had strong willpower to make them carved the statues… Imagine now we are at art lesson and our teacher need us to carve something on a piece of rock, remember rock not wood, how many of us are going to do this?? And don’t even mention that carve statues, maybe some of us will choose simple pattern like flower ONLY… The people of ancient china is indeed great, some of the statues even obey the equilibrium forces of physics… wow... Due to the effort of government of China to protect these statues, the world heritage committee has inscribed the Dazu Rock Cravings on the world heritage list at 4 December 1999. After some rest, we headed for our lunch and visited e-lin park and met the artist, Mr. Liu Zuozhong that drawn the map of the thousand miles of three gorges which is 100 meter long and 2 meter high, he spent approximately 20 years in sketching from nature in the three gorges area. Because of the completion of dam, (three gorges project), water level of Yangtze River will rise rapidly and submerge lower part of some area, and the map mark precisely how many people are going to immigrate and which historic site need to be rebuilt, etc… And Mr. Liu ZuoZhong also plans to draw a bigger map in the near future which is 200 meter long. After a tiring day, we back to hotel to rest, aren’t we?? Nonono… so kind of you give us a break, in fact we go to watch an interesting play, including the flashback of competition for lotus feet in the ancient china (三寸金莲), mask changing (变脸) and other impressive  perform by the actors. And finally we went back to our hotel to have a nice nap, ZZzzz….

Day 03

A cold day is supposed to be sleeping, but what we doing?? Shopping at the ci qi kou (磁器口) for some souvenir… In fact aunties were very excited while the young one and poor uncles all say nah to it…. It’s a nightmare when our tour guide says “you all have one hour free time to do some shopping here”… well, obviously my mum was very happy and instead bought many things and I can’t grumble much because here is the place that I grabbed some souvenir, after one hour, when all the shopping were done, help~~ >>> my baggage become much more heavy because of my mum well ability of bargaining… sigh… After that we go for lunch and visited rampart that was not destroyed by Japanese army, and you can see cute bronze statues along the road which each of them has one meaningful story behind it, if there is one bronze statue in Penang, I think the next day it will be disappear d… swt… Next, we visited chong qin’s walking street and turned out we eating at KFC… And finally we come to this tour highlight – we abroad new century cruise, a five star ship to sight-see Yangtze River, yea!!

Day 04

Great, now we are on the ship, we supposed to be excited but instead we are down… Why?? We are seasick?? No, of course no, well, the truth is we are TOO boring… There is nothing much we can do on a ship, we stroll up and down the ship again and again finally we decided to gamble… Sorry we know this is not good but we did not have money like adult, because they are so enjoying themselves that they go for massage, sauna and saloon on the boat, and don’t worry our wager is not money but are hairs, haha, interesting right?? And then here go the young one on the trip spending their morning gambling and watching television program. O, good, finally we have trip to visit, our ship stop sailing at feng du and we take a tour bus to go to snowy jade cave (雪玉洞), various of stalactites, stalagmites and steles made this cave the most beautiful cave in China. And I like this cave very much, all the carbonate and sulphate stone and help of water made fascinating scene is this cave, this cave has many wonder in it and among it were forest of soda straw, tower coral and ice penguin. After that, we board our ship and had our dinner, after dinner we watch show presented by the ship crew and went back to sleep.

Day 05

  so beautiful, although it is artificial stalactites, stalagmites and steles  look like snow ground to me,haha..wonder in the world, like a large penguin

aren't it look like water flowing down??  christmas tree!! haha, it's not, it's a stalactites, and it formed from different time zone, you can notice there is a colour different if you saw it, but in photo, it's quite hard, the darker the colour it's mean the older it is

Still, today morning we experienced the same thing, back to gamble again, and almost reach noon, we went to our ship deck to sight-see Yangtze river view, and today we have reached Qutang gorge and we had saw the famous bai di cheng(白帝城), and after about 2 hours, we reached Wu gorge and view the Wu gorge famous 12 peak, including Denglong peak, Shengquan peak, Chaoyun peak, Feifeng peak, Goddess peak, Cuiping peak, Shong-nuan peak, Juhe peak, Jixian peak, Shangsheng peak, Qiyun peak and Jington peak. After lunch, we change to a smaller ship and headed toward Shennong River, and after we reached Shennong River, we sat on a traditional boat that need man to row, it’s a totally new experience to me, and you may be ask why need to change to boat?? Here is the answer, because Shennong River is totally free from development, that means free from pollution, and it’s consider as native area, well, the word native may be sound scary but not at all because of the amazing scene at here, the majestic appearance of the peak of the mountain and deep and serene lake surrounded make the surrounding quite friendly, and due to the three gorges project, the water level of the river rose from 3 meter deep to 15 meter deep, and don’t worry there wasn’t any crocodile here ad we have asked the tour guide. The water is crystal clear and there is also one unique spectacle on the stream that is towing boat up the stream by the boat tracker, they are so strong, because they need to pull our boat in addition in this cold, winter weather, the water is so icy…

It’s give me the feeling 两岸猿声啼不住, 轻舟已过万重山… But it’s a pity there isn’t any monkeys around… Maybe the weather is way too cold…

Feifeng peak, as the name suggested, the mountain actually is in phoenix shape  flower still blooming at winter.. so beautiful ladies on ship deck ok, here we go, row row row to Shennong River!!

Day 06

We reached yi chang (宜昌)  and here we go prepare to get off the ship and headed to the dam, and the dam is so big and equipped with many facilities, there is power station to generate electricity, flood relief channel to control water level during flood, ship elevator, is the elevator to transfer small boat up to the dam or down the dam, as the dam is a river itself and five step locks is the transportation for the big ship. Next, we headed to Wuhan (武汉) by bus and it’s a 4 hours journey, we visited jing cheng (荆城) upon our arriver, you can see the bronze statue of LiuBei ( 刘备), ZhuGeLiang ( 诸葛亮 ), GuanYu (关羽), ZhangFei (张飞)and ZhaoYun(赵云). At night, we went to walking street again but this time is at Wuhan.

Day 07

Today, we thank our tour guide and we went back to Guangzhou and from Guangzhou to Penang.
